I also got a couple of NA's and a pull station, smoke detector spray, etc. Most of the price came in from the bulky and heavy panel.

No, a "shadow topic" is just a redirection to the moved topic.  It's there so if you go to that forum to check for replies, you can still find it in the new forum.

Yes, I do lol

Yeah, I was debating if I should remove it, myself.  I might have to add an exception.

I guess I will do this.
Simplex: Propriatary. If you are going to go simplex, ONLY get a simplex 2001, 4001, 4002, 4004, 4005, 4006, 4008, or a 4010. Do Not buy a simplex 4020, 4100, 4100U, 4100ES, or a 4125. Buy these and get caught without paying the $5000 license key fee? Expect no one to back you in COURT.

Why would you need a license for a simplex 4020,4100,4100u, or a 4125?

Because simplex is propriatary, their panels are meant to be installed and serviced by an authorized Simplex technician.

Yes, but what I'm wondering is if the license is to use the panel, to program it, or what?

Nathan H. wrote:But that is only for commercial buildings.
No, it's for wherever the panels are used. Since enthusiasts can purchase them from a store (or from Simplex), if we manage to get one, we still have to use the license.
