New TrueAlert

Post by TssCman123 on Wed Jun 19, 2013 10:56 pm

Simplex has released a new TrueAlert called the "TrueAlert ES".

http://www.notificationreinvented.com/truealert-es

Simplex said that they "reinvented notification". The article mentions that they have "self-testing" capabilities, which sounds cool.

I wonder how it will self-test. I imagine it won't randomly sound when it's in normal mode.

I don't think it will sound, because then building occupants could think that there is an alarm, and it would also disrupt operations.

Maybe, because it did say they were addressable, so every alarm will report the status back to the control panel.

Well, then again, addressable panels are constantly polling for addressable devices, so that isn't something new.  I have know idea how that would be done.

I think that on an addressable you could select what alarm you want to test .

Depends on the type of notification appliance.  System Sensor, Gentex, and other companies like that do not make addressable notification appliances.  Companies like Simple who make control panels and notification appliances usually make addressable appliances, too.
